INTRODUCTION TO PLC - INDUSTRIAL MECHANICS-

Introduction
A programmable logic controller or PLC is used for the purpose of controlling devices in an automated system. PLC receives signals from input devices and generates signals to output devices based on the program stored in the PLC memory. The ability to program a PLC is extremely useful for engineers or technicians especially those who are responsible for operating and maintaining an automated systems. This course introduces the participants to basic PLC programming. Participants will learn the principles of PLC and they will practice creating simple projects that use PLC for control purposes.


Target Group
This course is suitable for individuals who want to learn the fundamentals of PLC. The main purpose of this course is to give the participants a basic understanding of PLC including its principles, components and programming.


Prerequisites
This course is an introductory course, therefore prior knowledge of PLC is not required to enroll in this course.


Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:
a) Explain the basic principles of a PLC
b) Assemble simple system setup with PLC, input devices and output devices.
c) Create ladder diagram.
d) Troubleshoot problems in physical circuit using ladder diagram.

Course Instructor
The instructor for this course is Mr Khuzairi Mazelan. He currently teaches the Industrial Mechanics Program at ILP Jitra. Mr Khuzairi has 10 years of experience in the field of automation. Prior to joining ILP Jitra in 2004, Mr Khuzairi worked at the Muar Industrial Training Institute for 3 years. Mr Khuzairi has formal education in the field of industrial automation. He received a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Industrial Automation & Robotics from University of Wales College Newport in 2001. In addition, he also has a Level 3 National Skill Certificate for Industrial Technician. At ILP Jitra, Mr Khuzairi specializes in industrial automation technology including pneumatic, hydraulics and programmable controller.

SINGLE PHASE DOMESTIC WIRING

Introduction
Our Basic Electricity Course provides a practical introduction to domestic electricity principles. This is an introduction to basic electricity, a course that will give you the knowledge you need to take the next step to advanced training for almost any profession that deals with electricity. This course will provide you with a solid foundation on which you can build.

Target Group
This course is suitable for line leader, technician and anybody who want to learn the basic domestic wiring.


Prerequisites
This course is an introductory course, therefore prior wiring not required to enrol in this course.


Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

Install domestic wiring by carrying out type work as prescribed in the blueprint by using proper tolls, equipment and material so that the installations meets the specifications.

Skills for basic domestic wiring;

a)    Adhere to safety rules and regulations
b)    Obtain single phase wiring drawing
c)    Prepare tools, equipment’s and materials
d)    Wiring single phase conduit wiring and power
e)    Fix accessories and fittings
f)     Test electrical installation

CNC Electric Discharge Machining (Die Sinker)

Introduction

Electric discharge machining (EDM) is process that uses electrical sparks to machine metals into desired shape. EDM is usually used for hard metals or those that would be difficult to machine with conventional techniques. Using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology, EDM process is made accurate and programming method can be simplified for effective production. This course focuses on EDM die sinker process where electrode is used to create cavity on the workpiece. Participants will have opportunity to learn the basics of CNC EDM die sinker process including operation method and programming.

Target Group

This course is suitable for persons from machining related industries for example machinist or machine operators who want to learn how to operate a CNC EDM die sinker machine. This course is also suitable for experienced personnel who wish to refresh their knowledge in EDM.

Prerequisites

This course is a basic-level course. Prior knowledge of CNC is not necessary to enroll in this course.

Introduction
Injection moulding is a major manufacturing process in producing parts from both thermoplastic and thermoset plastic materials. Injection moulding is widely used for manufacturing various geometry of parts, from the smallest component to entire body of cars component.

The instructor for this course is Mr. Mohamad Rizuaden Bin Razali, who is an instructor of plastic technology since 2001 at ILP Jitra. Mr. Mohamad Rizuaden Bin Razali also has a 6 years of industrial experience in injection moulding process. He has taught many courses on plastic technology to both local and international participants. Mr. Mohamad Rizuaden Bin Razali is certified as a master moulder 1 by  RJG INC (USA).
