Basic Service and Maintenance Vehicle




Venue: Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Jitra

Introduction

With the increase in vehicles on the road and the increasingly alarming rates of pollution. Among the causes is damage to the engine system can’t function properly. Therefore, each vehicle systems should be good maintained  and each user must understand the operating system, to ensure comfort and control of environmental pollution. To ensure that every vehicle that can work with the optimum and efficient and the damage can be avoided, it shall be maintained by user and according to manufacturer specifications. This course is offered to anyone who is concerned to increase their knowledge and skills specifically related to the vehicle systems.

Target Group
This course is suitable for mechanics, fitter rates, technicians, workers with no skills and those who’s want to improve skills.


Prerequisites
This course is a basic-level course for a vehicle identification system; the participants should have an interest and basic knowledge of engine, brake, transmission and others of vehicles system.


Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

a)  Understand the vehicle system.
b)  Identify components.
c)  Perform a service.
d)  Perform maintenance.
e)  Perform service and repair
f)  Setting system on the vehicle.
g)  Performance and driving test.







Content

1.  Introduction of vehicle systems

a)    Determine lay-out of intake and exhaust, electrical, cooling, lubrication,   
fuel and etc system
b)   Operation and function.
c)   Scheduled maintenance.

2.  Perform dismantle and assemble parts of systems

a)    Reading workshop manual
b)    Housekeeping practice.

3.  Perform servicing and maintenance

a)    Cooling.
b)    Lubricating
c)    Fuel and etc.

4.  Perform adjust and test systems

a)    Brake
b)    Transmission.
c)    Electrical and etc.

5.  Test vehicle performance

a)    Running.
b)    Driving test.
c)     ETC.



Training Method
Training will be delivered through a combination between theoretical talk, demonstration and practical lessons.











Schedule
1st day
08.00 am         Registration
09.00 am         Knowledge of vehicle principle operations – fuel, oil, cooling etc.
10.30 am         Break
11.00 am         Schedule maintenance Checking and servicing engine systems
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.30 pm         Service and maintain cooling and oil system
05.00 pm         End of day 1

2nd day
08.00 am         Knowledge of vehicle principle operations – brake, transmission,  
                       electrical etc.
10.30 am         Break
11.00 am         Check and adjustment brake and electrical system
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.30 pm         Diagnose and troubleshoot systems and driving test
06.00 pm         Closing ceremony

Course Instructor
The instructor for this course is:

1.    Mr. Burhanuddin bin Zakaria
Advance Diploma in Automotive, Automation IHK of Germany, 25 years experience in automotive and heavy machines.

2.    Mr. Shahril bin Ilias
DPV/DLKM Automotive Technology, 10 years experience.

3.    Mr. Mohd Zairuni bin Mahzan
DPV/DKM Automotive Technology, 10 years experience.

NOSS is a document that outlines the dexterity required of an employee working in Malaysia at a certain level of employment to achieve specific skills. This Standard was prepared by industry experts and skilled workers in related fields. Its help Skills Training Institute /Trainer/Instructor:
i. To develop an appropriate training curriculum which meets industry needs
ii. To design a full-time training program or customized program that meets industry needs
iii. To have a clearer understanding of the skills required by the industry
iv. Basic assessment of re- training needs of instructors/trainers to meet current industry needs
v. Proper career advice may be given effectively to trainees.

All the training contents will be developed base on NOSS requirement to ensure the skill training programs meets the industry needs and eliminating miss match/gap between training provider and industry /employers needs. It’s also giving us a clear and systematic approach on how to provide skill training to help company and employee to enhance their career.

We train our Trainer/Instructor on related skills areas to improve their knowledge, skills and attitude to become the best trainer in skill training every year including sponsored their participation in Malaysia Skill Competition.
