MAINTAIN BRAKE SYSTEM 2




Venue: Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Jitra

Introduction
With the increase in vehicles on the road and accident rates are more alarming. Which is the cause of the brake system of air brakes (pneumatic) cannot function properly. Therefore, each vehicle pneumatic/hydraulic system should be maintained properly and all users must understand the operating system, to ensure the comfort and safety of motorists on the road. 
The vehicle must be maintained according to the manual and according to manufacturer specifications. The course is offered to increase the knowledge and skills specific on pneumatic/hydraulic system.  

Target Group
This course is suitable for mechanics, fitter rates, technicians, workers with no skills and those who’s want to improve skills.


Prerequisites
This course is a intermediate stage of identifying the vehicle brake system, the participants should have basic knowledge and interest in the vehicle including some knowledge of computers skill.



Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

a) Understand the pneumatic/hydraulic system.
b) Know the component.
c) Make a pneumatic/hydraulic circuit.
d) Perform a service.
e) Do overhaul.
 f) Testing the brake system operation.






Content

1.  Introduction on pneumatic/hydraulic system.
a)  Determine layout of pneumatic / hydraulic system
b)  Draw circuit diagram.

2.  Maintain brake system
a)    Troubleshoot brake system
b)    Repair air brake valve and brake retarder.

3.  Maintain hydraulic system
a)    Troubleshoot hydraulic system
b)    Repair hydraulic pump and control valve

4.  Maintain pneumatic system
a)    Troubleshoot pneumatic system
b)    Repair pneumatic control valve

5.  Test vehicle performance.
a)    Air brake system.
b)    Hydraulic brake system.
c)    ETC system.

Training Method
Training will be delivered through a combination between theoretical talk, demonstration and practical lessons.

Day 1

10.30 am         Layout of pneumatic/ hydraulic diagram
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.30 pm         Repair air brake valve, retarder and troubleshoot.
05.30 pm         End of day 1

Day 2
08.00 am         Create of hydraulic simulation by Fluid SIM
10.00 am         Break
10.30 am         Repair hydraulic pump and control valve
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.00 pm         Troubleshoot hydraulic system.
05.00 pm         End of day 2





Day 3
08.00 am         Create of pneumatic simulation by Fluid SIM
10.00 am         Break
10.30 am         Repair pneumatic control valve and others
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.30 pm         Troubleshoot pneumatic system.
05.30 pm         End of day 3

Day 4(Saturday)
08.00 am         Test and identified all type of brake system.
10.00 am         Break
10.30 am         Theory test
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.00 pm         Practical test
05.00 pm         Closing ceremony

Course Instructor
The instructor for this course is:

1.    En. Burhanuddin bin Zakaria
Advance Diploma in Automotive, Automation IHK Germany, 25 years experience in automotive and heavy machines.

2.    En. Shahril bin Ilias
DPV/DKM Automotive Technology, 10 years experience.

3.    En. Mohd Azdha bin Ibrahim
SKM L3 Hecom, 5 years experience in heavy vehicles.

i. To develop an appropriate training curriculum which meets industry needs
ii. To design a full-time training program or customized program that meets industry needs
iii. To have a clearer understanding of the skills required by the industry
iv. Basic assessment of re- training needs of instructors/trainers to meet current industry needs
v. Proper career advice may be given effectively to trainees.

All the training contents will be developed base on NOSS requirement to ensure the skill training programs meets the industry needs and eliminating miss match/gap between training provider and industry /employers needs.
