COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLATION FOR BEGINNER

Introduction

The heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems drive occupant comfort in buildings. HVAC systems control the air temperature, of course, but also to intake outside air, exhaust or filter contaminated air and efficiently use energy. Since HVAC systems are complicated, many Construction Supervisors don't bother to learn about them. That's a mistake. Most of the occupant complaints about the buildings we build involve HVAC systems, so we should all be paying more attention to how these systems get designed and installed.
If you take the time to understand the basics of HVAC systems, you'll discover valuable knowledge that you'll use on every project.

Target Group
This course is suitable for line leader and technician who want to learn the basic Commercial Air Conditioning Installation.

Prerequisites
This course is an introductory course, therefore prior basic Commercial Air Conditioning Installation not required to enrol in this course.

Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

a)    Locate and mount unit according to manual
b)    Connect refrigerant and water piping
c)    Connect electrical wiring
d)    Vacuum and Charge the system
e)    Test and commissioning according to manufacturers specification

Content
Commercial Air Conditioning Installation for beginner

a)    Survey the suitable area
b)    Determine the power supply
c)    Prepare the material for the installation i.e.
d)    Bracket, pipe, wire, insulation pipe etc
e)    Locate and mount unit according to manual
f)     Connect refrigerant and water piping
g)    Connect electrical wiring
h)    Vacuum and Charge the system
i)      Operate remote control
j)     Test and commissioning according to manufacturers specification
k)    Interpret  warranty policies
l)      Pump down system / recovery refrigerant
m)  Install fan according to instruction manual

Training Method
Training will be delivered through a combination between theoretical talk, demonstration and practical lessons.

Day 1
8:00 a.m.         Registration & Briefing
8:30 a.m.         Introduction to HVAC systems.
10:30 a.m.       Break
11:00 a.m.       Locate and mount unit according to manual
12:30 p.m.      Lunch
2:30 p.m.           Locate and mount unit according to manual
5:00 p.m.        End of day 1

Day 2
8:00 a.m.        Connect refrigerant and water piping
10:30 a.m.          Break
11:00 a.m.         Connect refrigerant and water piping
12:30 p.m.      Lunch
2:30 p.m.            Connect electrical wiring
5:00 p.m.        End of day 2

Day 3
8:00 a.m.             Vacuum and Charge the system
10:30 a.m.       Break
11:00 a.m.      Test and commissioning according to manufacturers specification

Course Instructor
The instructor for this course is Mr Mohd Hamdan Bin Mohd Shafiai. He is currently teaches HVAC Technology program at ILP Jitra and have more than 10 years of experience in the field.

Fees
The fee for this course is RM20,000.00 per package (10 participants + meals). Companies sending their employees to this course may apply for reimbursement from HRDF under the SBL scheme.

i. To develop an appropriate training curriculum which meets industry needs
ii. To design a full-time training program or customized program that meets industry needs
iii. To have a clearer understanding of the skills required by the industry
iv. Basic assessment of re- training needs of instructors/trainers to meet current industry needs
v. Proper career advice may be given effectively to trainees.

All the training contents will be developed base on NOSS requirement to ensure the skill training programs meets the industry needs and eliminating miss match/gap between training provider and industry /employers needs.
