Maintain Workshop Safety 2




Venue: Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Jitra

Introduction

With the increase in vehicles on the road and the increasingly alarming rates of accident. Among the causes is damage to the vehicle and the system can’t function properly. Therefore, each vehicle chassis systems should be good maintained  and each user must understand the operating system, to ensure comfort and control of vehicle and environmental under control. To ensure that every vehicle that can work with the optimum and efficient and the damage can be avoided, it shall be maintained by user and according to manufacturer specifications. This course is offered to increase knowledge and skills specifically related to the system.


Target Group
This course is suitable for mechanics, fitter rates, technicians, workers with no skills and those who’s want to improve skills.


Prerequisites
This course is a level 2 of SKM certificate in a vehicle identification system; the participants should have an interest and basic knowledge of workshop safety systems

Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

a) Understand the workshop safety.
b)
Carry out static vehicle inspection
c)
Carry out chassis inspection
d)
Carry out smoke test
e)
Carry out brake test
f) Prepare
vehicle authority inspection
g) Test workshop safety system.








Content

1.  Introduction of workshop safety
a)  Determine lay out of workshop
b)  Wear and function of PPE units.

2.  Perform vehicle inspection
a)    Static check.
b)    10 points.

3.  Perform chassis inspection
a)    Chassis
b)    Suspension. Steering
c)    Etc mechanism.

4.  Troubleshot smoke test
a)    Diesel tune DX.210
b)    Visual inspection.

5.  Troubleshoot and diagnose brake test performance.
a)    Static test
b)    Road test.

Training Method
Training will be delivered through a combination between theoretical talk, demonstration and practical lessons.

Day 1
08.00 am         Registration
08.30 am         Operation and function of chassis, brake and exhaust.
10.30 am         Break
11.00 am         Identify chassis, brake and exhaust operation system.
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.00 pm         Perform workshop safety.
05.00 pm         End of day 1

Day 2
08.00 am         Prepare vehicle authority inspection.
10.30 am         Break
11.00 am         Static inspection, 10 points inspection
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.00 pm         Check and repair steering, suspension and chassis.
05.00 pm         End of day 2





Day 3
08.00 am         Troubleshoot steering, suspension, chassis inspection and etc..
10.30 am         Break
11.00 am         Check smoke
01.00 pm         Lunch
02.00 pm         Theory and practice test
05.00 pm         Closing ceremony

This Standard was prepared by industry experts and skilled workers in related fields. Its help Skills Training Institute /Trainer/Instructor:
i. To develop an appropriate training curriculum which meets industry needs
ii. To design a full-time training program or customized program that meets industry needs
iii. To have a clearer understanding of the skills required by the industry
iv. Basic assessment of re- training needs of instructors/trainers to meet current industry needs
v. Proper career advice may be given effectively to trainees.

All the training contents will be developed base on NOSS requirement to ensure the skill training programs meets the industry needs and eliminating miss match/gap between training provider and industry /employers needs. We train our Trainer/Instructor on related skills areas to improve their knowledge, skills and attitude to become the best trainer in skill training every year including sponsored their participation in Malaysia Skill Competition.
