COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION INSTALLATION FOR BEGINNER

Introduction

The heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems drive occupant comfort in buildings. HVAC systems control the air temperature, of course, but also to intake outside air, exhaust or filter contaminated air and efficiently use energy. Since HVAC systems are complicated, many Construction Supervisors don't bother to learn about them. That's a mistake. Most of the occupant complaints about the buildings we build involve HVAC systems, so we should all be paying more attention to how these systems get designed and installed.
If you take the time to understand the basics of HVAC systems, you'll discover valuable knowledge that you'll use on every project.

Target Group
This course is suitable for line leader and technician who want to learn the basic Commercial Refrigeration Installation.

Prerequisites
This course is an introductory course, therefore prior basic Commercial Refrigeration Installation not required to enrol in this course.

Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

a)    Locate and mount unit according to manual
b)    Connect refrigerant and water piping
c)    Wiring commercial refrigerator unit / cold room
d)    Vacuum and Charge the system
e)      Test and commissioning according to manufacturers specification

Content
Commercial refrigeration  installation for beginner

a)    Survey the suitable area                                                                                                                     Determine the power supply
b)    Prepare the material for the installation
c)    Locate and mount unit according to manual
d)    Connect refrigerant and water piping
e)    Vacuum and Charge the system
f)      Evaporator pressure regulator setting
g)    Adjust digital defrost controller
h)    Wiring commercial refrigerator unit / cold room
i)      Superheat setting
j)     Test run and conform their performance
k)    Pump down system / recovery refrigerant

Training Method
Training will be delivered through a combination between theoretical talk, demonstration and practical lessons.

Day 1
8:00 a.m.         Registration & Briefing
8:30 a.m.         Introduction to commercial refrigeration  installation.
10:30 a.m.       Break
11:00 a.m.       Locate and mount unit according to manual
12:30 p.m.      Lunch
2:30 p.m.           Locate and mount unit according to manual
5:00 p.m.        End of day 1

Day 2
8:00 a.m.        Connect refrigerant and water piping
10:30 a.m.          Break
11:00 a.m.         Connect refrigerant and water piping
12:30 p.m.      Lunch
2:30 p.m.            Wiring commercial refrigerator unit / cold room
5:00 p.m.        End of day 2

Day 3
8:00 a.m.             Vacuum and Charge the system
10:30 a.m.       Break
11:00 a.m.      Test and commissioning according to manufacturers specification

Course Instructor
The instructor for this course is Mr Sarizal Bin Ishak. He is currently teaches HVAC Technology program at ILP Jitra and have more than 15 years of experience in the field.

iv. Basic assessment of re- training needs of instructors/trainers to meet current industry needs
